A school-based Social Worker position is available to provide essential support services at an elementary school serving approximately 800 students. This contract role runs through the current school year, offering part-time hours of 7.5 to 15 per week, spread across one to two days. The assignment is located in the West Ashley area near Summerville, SC, with a possibility of servicing an additional school. Key Responsibilities: - Deliver direct social work services to elementary-aged students to support their emotional, social, and behavioral needs - Collaborate with teachers, parents, and administration to develop and implement intervention plans - Conduct assessments and provide counseling to students facing challenges impacting their school performance - Facilitate referrals to community resources and support systems as needed - Maintain accurate documentation and comply with district policies and confidentiality guidelines Desired Qualifications: - Masters degree in Social Work (MSW) from an accredited institution - License to practice school social work in the state - Experience working within K-12 school settings preferred, with caseload management skills - Strong understanding of child development and family dynamics - Excellent communication and collaboration skills This is a contract position with the start date as soon as possible through May 29, 2026. Hours are flexible but typically scheduled during weekdays to align with school operations.
