Matthews Marking Systems, a leader in Marking and Coding Technologies, is seeking a Sales Engineer primarily based in the St. Louis and Kansas City markets.Matthews provides leading industrial marking and coding solutions globally to a wide variety of industries including, consumer products, food/beverage packaging, plastics, rubber, metals, building products, automotive and glass.This is a Hunter (50%) and Farmer (50%) position, and there is an established book of business that will be added to in the territory. This position requires a motivated Sales Engineer that learns and understands the technical aspects of Matthews products and can present the value propositions for those Matthews products and associated custom solutions to potential customers. Compensation is a combination of base salary plus commissions and includes company car with all normal business expenses paid by the company.*JOB RESPONIBILITIES*Act as the primary contact for all accounts in the sales territory. Create customer loyalty and grow the account through proactive relationship management.Current customer environment is very willing to engage with the Matthews based on industry leading product suite. Will utilize Salesforce, LinkedIn and Zoominfo for prospecting and contacting.Propose innovative value based solutions to customers and convince them of the financial and technical viability.Leverage internal and external technical teams and products to support customer needs throughout the selling process.This is a true Sales Engineer role as you will determine customer's technical needs, provide a solution via demonstration, and manage the large projects with the help of a experienced engineering team.Collaborate with channel partners in staff training and developing new sales opportunities.Sales Engineer is home office based, with 25% overnight travel reporting to the Regional Sales Manager.Participate in regional and national trade shows as requested.*QUALIFICATIONS/REQUIREMENTS*Bachelor's Degree in engineering, business, or related technical field; or an equivalent combination of 5 or more years education and experience.Familiarity with manufacturing environments containing factory automation or material handling equipment.Ability to navigate the sales process with comprehensive knowledge of automated industrial applications.A high degree of proficiency in MS Office Suite, Outlook & Internet applications.Ability to use Salesforce CRM to forecast, track and manage opportunities.*PHYSICAL ASPECTS/WORK ENVIRONMENT*Occasionally lift and/or move up to 30 pounds.Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus.Frequently exposed to industrial/manufacturing environments.The noise level in the work environment is usually low/moderate.Job Type: Full-timePay: $105,000.00 $130,000.00 per yearBenefits:* 401(k)* 401(k) matching* Dental insurance* Flexible spending account* Health insurance* Life insurance* Paid time off* Retirement plan* Vision insuranceSchedule:* 8 hour shift* Monday to FridaySupplemental pay types:* Bonus pay* Commission payCOVID-19 considerations:Not at this time.Willingness to travel:* 50% (Preferred)Work Location: On the road
