Serves as a journeyman carpenter and assists other carpenters with on the job training. Repairs include such items as replacing, repairing and relocating walls, hanging doors, door frames, installing hardware, maintaining and installing suspended ceilings, metal and wood stud framing and drywall installation, repair, wall system assemblies. Perform take-off measurements and estimates on projects to determine material and labor needed along with cost. Also executes the purchasing and ordering of materials needed to complete each renovation project assigned. Minimum Qualifications (Classified and Unclassified positions) High school diploma and 4 years experience in commercial carpentry trade for construction. Driver's License required. Preferred Qualifications High school diploma and 5 years experience in commercial carpentry trade for construction. Must posess knowledge of national and local code requirements and a valid driver's license. Knowledge/Skills/Abilities Must maintain considerable knowledge of tools and material used in building maintenance and construction. Must maintain knowledge and skills of the many techniques and methods used in the carpentry trade. Employee must use initiative and be proactive in discharging duties.
