Description:Provide proactive clinical support while assisting
the clinician in meeting patient care follow-up, exam room set up
and meeting organizational goals.ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND
RESPONSIBILITIES (Included but not limited to the
following);Welcomes patients by greeting them, in person or on the
telephone; answering or referring inquiries.Prepares patients for
the health care visit by directing and/or accompanying them to the
examining room; providing examination gowns and drapes; helping
them to position themselves for the examination and/or treatment;
arranging examining room instruments, supplies, and
equipment.Verifies patient information by interviewing patient;
reviewing and/or recording medical history; taking vital signs;
confirming purpose of visit or treatment.Perform basic eye exams,
including measuring visual acuity and taking medical histories.
They also administer eye drops and prepare patients for
exams.Operate equipment like tonometer, autorefractors, and
lensometers to perform diagnostic tests, such as visual field
testing and retinal imaging.Explain procedures and tests to
patients, and answer questions about medications, eyeglasses, and
eye care.Assist with contact lens fittings, including teaching
patients how to insert, remove, and care for their lenses.Supports
patient care delivery by helping health care providers during
examinations; preparing laboratory specimens; performing basic
laboratory test on the premises; disposing of contaminated
supplies; sterilizing medical instruments; administering
medications on the premises; authorizing drug refills as directed;
telephoning prescriptions to pharmacies; drawing blood; taking
electrocardiograms; removing sutures; changing dressings.Educates
patients by providing medication and diet information and
instructions; answering questions.Completes records by recording
patient examination, treatment, and test results.Generates revenues
by recording billing information of services rendered; completing
insurance forms; responding to insurance and other third-party
inquiries.Keeps supplies ready by inventory stock; placing orders;
verifying receipt.Keeps equipment operating by following operating
instructions; troubleshooting breakdowns; maintaining supplies;
performing preventative maintenance; calling for repairs.Maintains
safe, secure, and healthy work environment by following, and
enforcing standards, policies and procedures, federal, state, and
local requirements.Annotate temperatures for refrigerator, freezer,
incubator, and room on a daily basis.Autoclave instruments in
accordance with daily and monthly cleanings schedules.Exam room
prepared for receiving patient, including an adequately stocked
room.Anticipation of preliminary tests. If appropriate, have
patient in gown for pelvic, physical, etc.Assisting provider with
prescribed medication/samples from clinic medication outlet.Review
and planning of provider scheduling with LPN Care
Coordinator.Assist LPN/ CMA Care Coordinator with referrals,
tracking of weekly labs, radiology, EKGs. Log all positive HCGs,
abnormal cytology reports in appropriate logs.Assist provider with
minor surgeries and procedures.Give Immunizations and injections
per provider directive.Perform other duties as assigned by Clinical
Services Director.KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIESMust be computer
literate and be able to operate Microsoft Word, Outlook, and
Excel.Must possess good knowledge of office practices.Customer
service oriented, organized, and diligent.Knowledge of medical
terminology.Must have excellent grammar usage.Demonstrates problem
solving skills.Ability to work effectively and consistently with
limited direct supervision.Ability to communicate well with staff,
physicians, and public.Exhibits commitment to effective problem
solving techniques when issues arise.Good organizational and strong
communication skills with the ability to interact with a variety of
persons.Understanding, courteous, and professional at all times in
contacts with patients, visitors, employees, and medical
staff.Dependable/ must have flexible work schedule.Neat and
friendly appearance.Ability to speak Spanish.
(preferred)Requirements:EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCEHigh School diploma
or equivalentCurrent CPO, CPOA, CPOT, CMA, RMA required.Must be CPR
Certified1-3 years of experience in a medical office or health care
