Job Summary:??The Revenue Cycle Liaison will be the representative for the? ? ? ? ? designated practice(s) and/or specialty business operations. This job is responsible for building and maintaining collaborative and productive relationships within the organization and managing revenue cycle projects, helping to drive performance, and provide direction and oversight of operations impacting practice, vendor, and organization flows.?
Education: Associate's degree or equivalent experience required. Bachelor's degree preferred but will consider a combination of education and experience for a well-qualified candidate.
Experience: Five years related experience to include two years back-end medical billing experience and previous experience with integrated EMR and practice management software.
Number and Type of Team Members Supervised: None
Licensure, Registry or Certification Required: Certified Medical Biller preferred.
Special Training: Proficiency with Microsoft Office products required. Knowledge of performance metrics/report writing in order to identify areas for improvement. Advanced knowledge of revenue cycle functions, including coding and billing guidelines, government payer regulations, and managed care payer billing guidelines. Excellent interpersonal skills. Strong organizational skills. Ability to communicate effectively and positively up and down the chain of command.? Strong analytical skills. Ability to interpret and implement regulatory standards. Effective written and oral communication skills.
Key Responsibilities:
-Serves as primary point of contact between front office and back-end revenue cycle and clinical operations staff regarding revenue cycle performance, administrative inquiries, performance metrics inquiries, and all other inquiries as they arise.-Develops specific goals and plans to prioritize, organize, and deliver revenue cycle performance improvements.-Assists assigned Clinical Department(s) to resolve a suspected concern, generally of a clinical and/or financial nature. Leads the follow up with others along with requesting and analyzing relevant data.-Reports findings of positive and negative trends. Offers suggestions for improvement and develops action plan. Prepares supporting documentation that illustrates the impact on the revenue cycle or improvement to an existing process within the Clinical Department(s). Builds and maintains collaborative and productive relationships within the organization.-Drives performance by educating and coaching practice on new operational initiatives, workflows, procedures, and requirements.-Identifies the need for and participates in the development of departmental policies and/or processes involving complex or potentially sensitive issues, as requested.-Serves as a change agent for operational changes in the practice by influencing members of the team and providing clear communication to enhance understanding of processes and improve performance.-Interprets and communicates informatics effectively with supervisors, peers, or subordinates.-Identifies complex issues and reviews related information to develop and evaluate options and implements solutions.-Efficiently and promptly follows up on all inquiries to within department guidelines.-Assists and coordinates the implementation, training, support, and ongoing maintenance of technology. Troubleshoots and corrects as necessary.-Monitors and communicates trends and issues that may affect physician practice relationship.-Demonstrates the ability to lead or influence others positively to achieve desired work results.
