All team members are expected to be knowledgeable and compliant with Palmetto Health-USC Medical Group's values of compassion, dignity, excellence, integrity, and teamwork.?Job Summary:??Responsible foroversight of all in-practice functions of the organization's professional fee Revenue Cycle including management oversight of all business related functions of the patient visit from point of telephone contact into the practice through charge entry.?Ensures maximization of revenue and cash flow while maintaining the highest levels of patient, physician, team member and other customer relations.??Specific areas of responsibility include the standardization of policies and procedures; training of process and applications; and monitoring for compliance to protocols. Responsible for the coordination of these efforts together with practice team members and team leaders to ensure the accuracy and timeliness of patient information, claimed its as appropriate, collections and charge capture.?Specifications
Education: Associate's degree or equivalent experience required.??Bachelor's degree with a Concentration in Business Administration, Finance, or Accounting preferred.Experience: Five years experience in Revenue Cycle operations with at least 2 years experience in a leadership role involving patient registration, time of service collections and charge entry functions in a multi-specialty setting.??Managing Revenue Cycle operations through a system conversion is strongly preferred.Number and Type of Team Members Supervised: Typically two to ten Revenue Cycle Trainers.??May also oversee other Revenue Cycle team members such as: Patient Service Representatives and Patient Service Supervisors.Licensure, Registry or Certification Required: N/ASpecial Training: Extensive knowledge of third-party and insurance company operation procedures, regulations and billing requirements, and government reimbursement programs is required.?Knowledge and command of medical information systems for billing,?accounts receivable, spreadsheets, reporting applications, medical terminology, coding and office procedures.??Ability to proactively analyze and resolve potential bottlenecks that may negatively affect the organization's reimbursement and accounts receivable.??Effective verbal, written, and interpersonal skills to communicate effectively with all levels of team members, team leaders, physicians, patients and visitors.Key Responsibilities:?????Plans and directs team members to perform pre-verification of patient insurance, registration, time of service collections, and charge entry to ensure accurate patient billing and efficient account collection at the time of service.?? In conjunction with CBO Director, acts as liaison without sourced billing vendor to ensure optimal management of patients' accounts.????Prepares, distributes, and trains practice team leaders to populate a "dashboard of key performance indicators" to be completed monthly by practice team leaders.?? ? ? ?Promotes effective communications between front-end teammembers, claims management team members and billing follow-up team members toensure ongoing education/training and to expedite problem resolution.?? ? ? Manages Information Systems training team members assigned to front-end and revenue cycle operations.??????Sets policy for the work process within patient scheduling, registration, time of service collections, coding and charge entry by developing work standards and quality monitors, and ensures that policies are communicated and administered consistently. Works closely with practice team members and team leaders to monitor compliance to policies and procedures as they relate to the revenue cycle.????????Coordinates with the CBO to optimize the functionality and integrity of the information system(s).?????Works with information technology team members to ensure timely and accurate administration of work processes within the system to provide optimal system functionality to practice team members.????????Has management oversight of Revenue Cycle application trainers.????????Oversees training and orientation of all relevant practice team members.?? ? ?Works closely with practice team leaders and has input into the evaluations of front-end Revenue Cycle team members within practice sites.?????Maintains current knowledge of, and complies with established policies and procedures including patient confidentiality/patient rights, government, and third-party payor regulations.???????As a key team leader of the organization's leadership team, actively participates in administrative meetings and committees as appropriate.???Participates in professional development activities and maintains professional affiliations with area of expertise.
