NEEDED: Computed Tomography Technologist (CT Tech)
LOCATION: 6439 Garners Ferry Road, Columbia, SC 29209
STATUS: FULL-TIME
HOURS: Forty (40) hours per week; exact shift/duty hours to be determined by area supervisor.
QUALIFICATIONS:

• CT Technologists with American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) (R) and (CT) national registries.
• Shall perform CT procedures for Veterans receiving medical care at the Columbia VAHCS.
• Successfully completes all required educational classes and successfully receives all Continuing Education Units (CEU's) as governed by the ARRT, to maintain an active status with the ARRT.
• Completes all education in TMS in timely manner.
• Maintains certification in BLS or AED. DUTIES:
  
  • Operates independently and performs a variety of specialized with and without contrast material CT examinations.
  • Critiques images for quality and notifies the Radiologist and/or CT Supervisor of significant exams requiring immediate attention while patient is undergoing the examination.
  • Ensures all documentation required for the completion of the exam is complete in data entry systems.
  • Uses judgment and initiative, relying on established protocols and past practice when a difficult decision must be made.
  • Should be able to perform CT exams covering most portions of the body as listed: Head & Neck, Chest, Abdomen & Pelvis, Extremities, Spleen, Aorta, Kidney, Bladder, Biopsies & Drainages
  • Must adhere to 2022 National Patient Safety Goals (NPSG) standards/guidelines.
  • Prepares contrast material for fluoroscopic and special procedures under the direction of the Radiologist for the purpose of performing imaging examinations.
  • Must be continuously on the alert to the patient's condition and other disorders.
