Bring your experience in manufacturing machinist skills to Harsco Rail, where you will have the opportunity to build a career with highly engineered products and join a great team that delivers these products across the globe. We have openings on 2nd shift: 3 pm- 1 am.As a Machinist, you will set up, program, and operate conventional, special purpose, and computer numerical control (CNC) machines. Also machining centers to fabricate metallic and nonmetallic parts by performing the following duties. Studies blueprints, sketches, drawings, manuals, specifications, or sample part to determine dimensions and tolerances of finished workpiece, sequence of operations, and setup requirements.You will measure, mark, and scribe dimensions and reference points on material or workpiece as guides for subsequent machining. You select, align, and secure holding fixtures, cutting tools, attachments, accessories, and materials on machines such as mills, lathes, jig borers, grinders, and shapers.You calculate and set controls to regulate machining factors such as speed, feed, coolant flow, and depth and angle of cut, or enter commands to retrieve, input, or edit computerized machine control media. You will start and observe machine operation to detect malfunctions or out-of-tolerance machining and adjusts machine controls or control media as required. You will confer with engineers, production personnel, programmers, or others to resolve machining or assembly problems. You will perform other reasonably related tasks as assigned by management.QualificationsYou must perform this job successfully with a High School Diploma or GED and have two plus year's setting up and programming CNC horizontals, Vertical or lathe. Manuel machining is a plus. An individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. Preferred qualifications include experience include high school diploma or GED and Trade School. Beyond two years experience operating, programming and setting up CNC Horizontals, Vertical mills, and lathes.
