Harsco Rail's growth in the global market continues.As Welding Inspector, you will ensure that all welds meet international and AWS standards:Perform in-process and final inspections (VT) on welded products and structures according to Harsco requirements and specifications and/or AWS I EN standards.Ensure drawing requirements are followed.Confirm that welders are following applicable WPSs and ensure correct welding techniques are being administered. Coordinate repairs with weldersUse fillet weld gauges, standard measuring instruments, micrometers and (dial) calipers, etc.Create and follow weld map(s) for product identification.Record the results of tests and welding inspections in the Quality Management System.Perform other reasonably related tasks as assigned by management.We are looking for Weld Inspectors for 1st Shift (6am-2pm) and 2nd shift (2pm-10pm)QualificationsOur qualified candidate will have a High School Diploma or GED, will hold AWS certification as a Certified Welding Inspector (CWI), and will have hands-on welding experience with at least three years of experience doing welding inspection.Preferred qualifications include experience with NDE / NDT, macro-etching, EN welding standards, and use of standard measuring devices used for inspections. Knowledge of AWS D1.1 code, welding symbols and weld positions, and welding procedures and specifications is desired. Proficiency with MS Office especially Excel, Word, and Outlook are preferred. Our ideal candidate will have the ability to read and interpret engineering drawings.You'll be working in a highly matrix, team environment so you should be comfortable working with different levels in an organization and have the ability to influence others across functions.
