On February 2, 2016, Providence became part of theLifePoint Health network, and shortly thereafter, changed its name toProvidence Health to better represent the full complement of its services.Driven by quality, compassion, and Christ,Providence treats the whole person- body, mind, and spirit.Providence--Health- Northeast are looking for a skilled Multi-Modality Tech , PRN to join their growing RadiologyUnit.Providence Health Northeast, located in the suburbs ofColumbia, South Carolina, is home to some of the best surgeons in Columbia.This 74-licensed bed full-service hospital provides general surgery, orthopedicsurgery, neurosurgery, Ear Nose and Throat surgery (ENT), round-the-clockcardiology, and other surgical services.For more information about theservices provided by Providence Health - Northeast, click here.Essential Functions:* Operates imagingequipment (radiographic, fluoroscopic, portable, C-arm, MRI , NM , US and CT)following radiation safety guidelines based on hospital policy and regulatoryrequirements.* Provides radiographicsupport for all areas of the Hospital as needed.* Operates other patientcare equipment/devices as appropriate oxygen, suction, syringes, monitors,blood pressure cuff, stethoscope, wheelchairs, stretchers and compressiondevices.* Position patientsaccurately for specific anatomic imaging using appropriate immobilizationdevices when required. Avoids excessive repeated examinations by followingguidelines.* Calculates exposurefactors for optimum quality studies. Adheres to the use of predeterminedprotocols as outlined by the radiologists.* Provides radiationprotection 100% of time to self, patients, visitors and other health careprofessionals. Adheres to all policies and procedures related to radiationsafety per Providence Hospital and regulatory agencies.* Evaluates images fortechnical quality and insures that quality is present before dismissingpatients or submitting images for interpretation. Patient recalls must be keptto an absolute minimum.* Assumes responsibilityfor the physical and psychological needs of each patient. Communicates in aclear, concise, accurate and caring manner.* Maintains competency forvenipuncture, specific to the requirements of the modality.* Initiates life supportsystems in a competent, capable and calm manner when necessary. Understands theoperation of suction and oxygen. Basic understanding and familiarity with drugsin crash cart.* Maintainscertification-ARR, SCRQSA. Assumes responsibility for continuing educationalrequirements required for continues certification.* Enters requiredinformation into Meditech in a timely manner.* Properly identifiespatient, verifies orders, history and other relevant information to assistRadiologist with interpretation.* Follows up on allrequested call reports, fax reports, critical results as required.Job Requirements:Minimum EducationGraduate of (an approved school ortraining program) a 24-month approved School of Radiologic Technology or otherapproved training (i.e. military).Required Licenses* [South Carolina, UnitedStates] Radiologic Technologists and Technicians * Certified by TheAmerican Registry of Radiologic Technology or other licensing body or isRegistry eligible. Certified by the State of SC. * Training must haveincluded care of patients of all ages-pediatric, teens, adult and geriatricpatients. Technologists performing routine diagnostic radiography must becomeregistered within one (1) year of employment.
