As a System Administrator 2, you will install, configure and maintain Windows-based servers and provide technical support to the Help Desk and lower level technical specialists. You will also assist lower level technicians with advanced problems.
Install, configure, test, maintain, and monitor Windows-based servers and Virtual Environment. Monitor, maintain, and troubleshoot backup software. Monitor and maintain software patch levels and anti-virus, update according to best practices each day. Analyze and resolve problems associated with server hardware/software including operating systems and applications on a daily basis. Address complex issues identified through Help Desk calls, texts, and/or emails by performing on-site analysis, diagnosis, and resolution of server/PC problems. Support development and implementation of new computer projects and new hardware installations. Construct, install and test customized configurations based on various platforms and operating systems. Conduct research on computer products in support of server/PC procurement and development efforts. Evaluate and recommend hardware/software products for purchase. Assist in development of long-term strategies and capacity planning for meeting computer hardware needs. Provide guidance to junior members of the team on complex issues and train end users in use of equipment and software. Accurately document instances of hardware failure, repair, installation, and removal. Develop technical documents for installation and troubleshooting various hardware and software issues. Plan and implement enhancements, upgrades, patches, and changes necessary for the continued, stable functioning of the systems and hardware supporting Information Technology (IT).
For this role, you will need to have an Associate's Degree, Bachelor's Degree, or equivalent experience, 4 years of System Administration experience. We would prefer for you to have 6 years of System Administration experience, previous experience with the following: Microsoft System Center, MS PowerShell, Microsoft O365, XenApp/XenDesktop and Azure AD, SharePoint, Jira or other Service Management software; applicable Microsoft Role-Based and VMWare certifications: Citrix CCA, CCEE, CCIA, or CCAA.
