JOB DESCRIPTION INFORMATIONPosition Title: Payroll SpecialistType of Job Description: New Job DescriptionPosition Type: FulltimeJob Catalog Position Title: Payroll SpecialistFLSA Status: Salaried Non-ExemptDepartment: Human ResourcesLocation: Columbia, MOBusiness Unit: JBS Prepared FoodsReports to: HR ManagerYears of Experience: 1+ years of payroll experience Number of employees Supervised: NoneJOB SUMMARYPrincipe Italia, a division of JBS PreparedFoods, is in search of an experiencedPayroll Specialist who will be responsible for a wide range of payroll & attendance related activities, and acting as a back-up to the HR Generalist when needed. This individual will play a key role inthe success of the plantby maintaining the payroll function and supporting leadershipand hourly employees onpayroll & HR related matters.ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIESProcess weekly and bi-weekly pay cycles for employeesWork with all aspects of Payroll, including verifying employee time, payroll deductions, vacation, etc.Review and validate timesheets and other information to detect andreconcile payroll discrepanciesProvide information tomanagers on payroll and attendance mattersAdministration and tracking of employee attendance, including disciplinary action, vacations, and leave of absenceManage the Leave of Absence and FMLA processes, including tracking days/hours used and ensuring we are in adherence to both internal policies and governmental regulations.Establish, evaluate, and maintain departmental reports andkey indicatorsRecommendnew processes, policies, and procedures to influence continual improvements in efficiency of the department and services performedService employees on payroll questions; support the HR Generalist when neededResponsible for internal company communication, including bulletin boards, company newsletter, etc.The above statements are intended to describe the general nature and level of work being performed by people assigned to this job.
