The Sonoco Emerging Leaders Program (ELP) is designed to help you develop leadership skills, gain technical knowledge, establish strong business skills and understand Sonoco's culture and processes. The program is a blend of hands-on experiences and opportunities. Throughout the program you can expect to gain a better understanding of your leadership style and contribute to Sonoco through valuable project work.
As part of Sonoco's Emerging Leader's Program, the HR Associate role will provide you with a solid foundation to develop a successful career in Human Resources. In this role, you will be focusing on projects that support Sonoco HR's continuous improvement efforts. Through this program you will build a foundation of techniques concerning leadership, process improvement, and project management while working closely with the other core areas of our HR model: Organizational Development, Labor and Employee Relations, Talent Acquisition, Compensation, Benefits, HR Operations and HR Technology. Your experience will be across different areas such as Commercial, Manufacturing, Technology, or other relevant business areas. The aim is to accelerate your early career development through diverse experiences and put you on the path for a leadership role in HR at Sonoco.

PREFERRED SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE:
1-3 years working experience in HR

Currently enrolled or have completed your MASTER'S DEGREE IN HUMAN RESOURCES MANAGEMENT OR MBA

Demonstrated leadership and decision-making skills
Excellent written/verbal communication skills
Strong ability to problem solve
Project management experience
Learning agility
Effective interpersonal skills
Ability to multi-task and work effectively with groups
Adaptability and follow through
Attention to detail
Analytical skills
Self-motivated
Able to adopt a flexible thinking approach
Open to travel
Authorization to work in the United States
