Registered Nurse (RN) | Progressive Care Unit Location: Charlotte, NC Agency: Cynet Health Pay: $1,997 per week Shift Information: Nights - 3 days x 12 hours Contract Duration: 13 Weeks Start Date: 4/20/2026 About the Position Job Title: Registered Nurse Profession: Nursing Specialty: Intermediate Care Duration: 13 weeks Shift: Night Hours per Shift: 12 hours (18:45 - 07:15) Experience: 2 years minimum (Neuro experience preferred) License: Current nursing license Certifications: BCLS, ACLS, NIH Must-Have: Must be able to titrate LEVO. Must have a teamwork approach and meet behavioral expectations in all interactions with patients and staff. Must adhere to the call-off policy. Must pass EKG testing prior to start. Description: RTO after booking is not allowed. Any call-offs or additional RTO could possibly turn into a cancellation and DNR. This role requires experience in Neuro stepdown, PCU/DOU/IMC/Stepdown, and telemetry. The nurse must have skills in cardiac monitoring and emergency response, including interpretation and management of dysrhythmias. Candidates need to be comfortable with telemetry monitoring and the use of rapid response/code teams. IV insulin protocols and titration of insulin drips are essential skills. Feeding tube care and management are required. Continuous bladder irrigation (CBI) and pre/post hemodialysis management must be within the skill set. Blood product administration and central line care/management experience is necessary. Candidates must have experience with peripheral line care/management and PICC line management. Knowledge of heparin protocols, PCA, thrombolytic agents, titration of cardiac and vasoactive drips is required. Experience with neurological conditions such as aneurysms, craniotomy, CVA, and intracranial bleeds is critical. Candidates should be proficient in post-TPA care, pre/post neurosurgery, seizure disorders, spinal cord injuries, substance withdrawal, and traumatic brain injury. Skills in managing surgical drains are essential. Care of ventilated patients, chest tubes, and non-invasive airway management is necessary. Interpretation of arterial blood gases (ABGs) is required. Candidates must understand isolation precautions and PPE protocols as well as wound care and wound vac management. Weekend work is required, with a minimum of three weekend shifts every six weeks. Travelers may be required to float to other intermediate care areas. The unit will max out at 24 patients with a typical ratio of 1:3-4. The nursing environment involves interdisciplinary support from various medical specialists. Candidates will work with a specialized patient population focused on neurological and medical intermediate patients.
