Job Summary and Qualifications The Resource Nurse supports high quality, patient-centered care by offering feedback, guidance, and mentoring to new graduate nurses and/or nurses that are transitioning to a new specialty. The Resource Nurse supports multiple units. The Resource Nurse provides guidance and education on the hospital’s standard of nursing practice, policies, and procedures to ensure compliance with all accrediting and regulatory agency requirements. What you will do in this role: - You will perform rounds on each nursing unit, continuously observing, evaluating and assessing the quality of patient care and identifying nursing educational needs. - You will escalate concerns about nursing skills, patient care, policies, processes, and equipment as appropriate. - You will utilize skills of observation, providing feedback on nursing assessments, nursing diagnosis, planning, intervention, and evaluation of patient care. - You will be a point of contact for new graduates and/or nurses within scope of support. - You will track requests to identify most requested skills for purposes of enhancing orientation and education. - You will foster teamwork and contribute to the achievement of team goals. - You will attend Rapid Responses and codes as needed, to observe, provide feedback, and debrief, facilitate education, direction, coaching before, during, and after. - You will share knowledge and expertise with co-workers. What qualifications you will need: - Bachelor's Degree in Nursing required - 2 years of experience as a Registered Nurse required - 1 or more years of experience in ICU or ED required Doctors Hospital of Augusta has provided quality healthcare services since 1973.
