Position Job Title: MRI Technologist Profession: Allied Specialty:
Radiology Duration: 13 weeks Shift: 12hr Night Shift Hours per
Shift: 36 (Friday-Sunday 7p-7a) Experience: Minimum of 1 year
required License: ARRT(R) or NMTCB, ARRT(MR) or ARMRI
Certifications: BLS required Must-Have: - Ability to examine
requests and verify orders on each patient - Proficient in properly
identifying and assisting patients while providing a brief
explanation of procedures - Skilled in preparing patients for
procedures and documenting information - Capable of interviewing
patients for a complete medical history and reviewing EMRs for
pertinent clinical history - Responsible for the exam from
beginning to completion of dictated results - Competent in
preparing and administering IV contrast per departmental protocols
- Ability to evaluate technical quality of images and consult with
a Radiologist if needed - Experience in performing basic patient
care functions and informing nursing personnel of any changes in
patient conditions - Knowledgeable in initiating life support
measures when necessary - Familiar with infection control policies
while performing invasive procedures - Awareness and practice of
radiation safety for self, employees, patients, and family members
- Proficient in operating the radiology computer system, including
entering orders and charging procedures/supplies - Capable of
documenting contrast administration in the medication
administration record - Able to assist other medical personnel
during exams or services in conjunction with an MRI scan -
Maintains knowledge of MRI safety requirements for staff and
patients in magnetic fields Description: The department performs an
average of 23 studies per day, with higher volumes during the week
and fewer on weekends. Inpatient census is typically at full
capacity. The department serves emergency department, inpatient,
observation, and outpatient patients. The team cares for a large
population of medical device patients. Cases requiring anesthesia
will be performed as necessary. Adherence to hospital fire and
safety procedures is essential. Knowledge and skills required to
safely work in an environment with potential exposures to
bloodborne pathogens and infectious diseases are important.
Candidates must demonstrate excellent communication and patient
care skills throughout the MRI procedure. All staff members are
expected to be team players and assist in maintaining a positive
