working with Cynet Health to find a qualified PCU RN in Charlotte,
North Carolina, 28277! Job Title: Registered Nurse Profession:

Shift: Night Hours per Shift: 12 Experience: Minimum 2 years of
recent ICU experience License: Current nursing license
Certifications: ACLS, BLS Must-Have: Recent ICU experience
Description: RTO after booking is not allowed and cannot be worked
out onsite. Any call-offs or additional RTO on unit may result in a
cancelation. The unit requires a nurse with recent ICU experience.
The unit accepts first-time travelers. Local candidates are
accepted with a rate difference. Required skills include IV start,
telemetry, cardiac telemetry, and titration of cardiac drips.
Experience with rapid response teams, feeding tube management, and
heparin protocols is essential. Candidates should also have
experience with PCA management and CVA care. Preferable skills
include MS/Tele experience and titrating vasoactive drips. Care of
ventilated patients and wound care experience is also preferred.
The patient-to-nurse ratio is 1:4. Shifts consist of 12-hour nights
from 18:45 to 07:15. Any missed shifts should be made up within the
same week if possible. Otherwise, time should be added to the end
of the contract. Candidates may be required to float to Med-Surg as
needed. Weekend shifts of at least 4 per 6-week schedule are
required. Patients in the unit may present with diagnoses such as
DKA, sickle cell, sepsis, respiratory distress, pneumonia, heart
failure, and stroke-like symptoms. The unit functions as a rapid
response team. Special equipment includes BiPAP, CPAP, and
Optiflow. Familiarity with specific systems is expected. Scrubs
should be navy or a combination of navy and white. Candidates must
pass EKG testing prior to starting in this specialty. Experience in
a critical care inpatient setting is mandatory. This unit may be
resource-limited, and travelers may occasionally serve as the only
critical care nurse. Candidates should be adaptable to various
clinical environments. Preferred experience includes working with
diverse patient age groups, particularly adults and geriatrics. 5
