Job Description Job Description Position Summary The Nurse
Practitioner (NP) or Physician Assistant serves as an internal
medicine provider for patients of all ages at Medical Associates
Plus (MAP). This role includes the provision of both scheduled and
episodic/walk-in care. The NP functions as a healthcare provider,
educator, consultant, researcher, and clinical leader. Services are
delivered under the supervision and in collaboration with the
Medical Director, following all applicable federal and state
regulations and within the protocols and standards of MAP.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities Deliver high-quality,
evidence-based care to diverse patient populations Conduct physical
exams, order and interpret tests, and prescribe medications Educate
patients and families on conditions, treatments, and prevention
Document patient encounters accurately using our electronic health
record (EHR) Collaborate with an interdisciplinary team of
physicians, nurses, and care coordinators Support quality
improvement, risk management, and compliance efforts Participate in
call coverage and clinic leadership, as needed Qualifications
Education and Licensure Graduate of an accredited Nurse
Practitioner program or Physician Assistant Program. Current
licensure as a Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant in the
state of practice. BLS/CPR certification required; ACLS preferred.
Experience Minimum of two (2) years of clinical experience as a
Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant preferred. Experience in
community health, family practice, or urgent care is strongly
desired. Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities Ability to work
independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced clinical
setting. Strong clinical assessment and decision-making skills.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with patients,
families, and colleagues. Demonstrated ability to educate and
engage patients in their care. Proficiency in using electronic
health records and standard office software. Committed to
continuous professional development and ethical practice. Ability
to manage stressful situations, resolve conflict, and prioritize
multiple tasks. Physical Requirements Must be able to perform
clinical duties with or without reasonable accommodation. Frequent
walking, standing, and use of hands; occasional sitting, reaching,
kneeling, or bending. Must be able to lift or move up to 25 pounds.
Specific vision abilities include close vision, distance vision,
peripheral vision, and depth perception. Working Conditions The
primary work location is an outpatient clinic setting with standard
lighting, climate control, and moderate noise. May be exposed to
communicable diseases, bloodborne pathogens, and bodily fluids.
Occasional extended hours or weekend shifts may be required.
