Sterile Processing Tech Location: Augusta, GA Agency: Cynet Health Pay: $1,145 per week Shift Information: Nights - 5 days x 8 hours Contract Duration: 14 Weeks Start Date: 2/23/2026 About the Position Job Title: Sterile Processing Technician Profession: Surgical Services Specialty: Sterile Processing Tech Duration: 14 weeks Shift: Night Hours per Shift: 8 hours (11:00 PM - 7:30 AM) Experience: Minimum of 4 years License: Not specified Certifications: CBSPD and IAHCSMM/HSPA preferred Must-Have: - Ability to serve as a preceptor for potential peers and new employees. - Minimum expectations include a bioburden error rate of 0.1% or less on a monthly basis. - Average tray volume of 20 per day with 100 instruments per tray. Description: The role primarily involves working in a busy sterile processing department. It serves several surgical specialties including general, gynecological, cardiovascular, thoracic, laparoscopic, urology, orthopedic, neurosurgery, and organ procurement. Candidates are expected to maintain recommended standards for set assembly, decontamination, inspection, containerizing, and sterilizing surgical instruments promptly and accurately. The position requires collaboration with the nursing staff to ensure timely provision of sterile instrument sets and equipment. Successful candidates will demonstrate superior customer service while maintaining consistent workflow. Candidates must follow written instructions, manage multiple tasks effectively, and communicate clearly, both verbally and in writing. Experience with flexible cystoscopes, sterilization equipment, decontamination equipment, and understanding of sterilization wrapping procedures is essential. Exposure to different surgical procedures will be beneficial, along with the use of various sterilizers and ultrasonic cleaners.
