qualified Neuro RN in Charlotte, North Carolina, 28204! Pay

Registered Nurse Profession: Nursing Specialty: Neuro ICU Duration:
13 Weeks Shift: Night Hours per Shift: 12 Experience: 2 years in
Neuro ICU License: Current NC or Compact license required at start
Certifications: ACLS, BCLS, NIH Must-Have: Strong Neuro critical
care background with a minimum of 2 years of experience in Neuro
ICU. Experience with vents, IV starts, interpretation and
management of dysrhythmias, blood product administration, central
line care/management, continuous IV sedation, CVA/acute stroke
management, external ventricular drains (EVD), ICP monitoring,
post-neurosurgery management, care of ventilated patients, and
isolation precautions/use of PPE. Candidates must pass EKG testing
prior to start for this specialty. Description: This position
involves working in a comprehensive stroke center. The patient
population includes strokes (ischemic and hemorrhagic), subdural
hematomas, craniotomies, carotid stents, aneurysm clipping,
seizures, and myasthenia gravis. Specific drains used include EVDs,
lumbar drains, hemovacs, and Camino for ICP monitoring. Ratios on
the unit are typically 2:1, flexing to 3:1 in high census
situations. The average daily census ranges from 11 to 12 patients.
Travelers must work every other weekend and be open to floating to
other units as needed. It is essential for candidates to have a
strong background in neuro critical care, not just general ICU
experience. RTO is allowed for up to 7 days, and candidates must
work 2 out of 3 major holidays. No RTO is allowed during the first
week of the assignment. All candidates must be comfortable with
floating based on the job description and unit needs.
