Job Description:
Job Title: Respiratory Therapist Profession: Respiratory / Neuro
Diagnostics Specialty: RRT PICU Duration: 13 weeks Shift: Night
4x12-Hour Hours per Shift: 12 Experience: 5 Years of Experience
Required, Traveler Experience Preferred License: NC State License
Certifications: BLS, NRP, PALS, RRT Must-Have: Minimum of 5 Years
of Experience Required Unit Will Not Accept First-Time Travelers
Without a High-Level Skill Set Ability to Work in Pediatric
Intensive Care, Pediatric Emergency Department, and Pediatrics
Floors NICU and PICU Experience Required Call May Be Required
Depending on Workload Weekend Requirement of Every Third Weekend
50% - 60% of NICU and PICU Cases Daily Description: This position
requires experience managing pediatric and neonatal patients.
Skills in airway management devices and suctioning are essential.
Proficient in endotracheal tube suctioning, extubation, and
intubation assistance. Treatment knowledge of patients with
aspiration, COVID, cystic fibrosis, and pneumonia is necessary.
Candidate must possess medication administration skills for various
respiratory medications. Competency in nebulizer use and oxygen
therapy techniques is expected. Ability to manage ventilators and
troubleshoot alarms is required. Experience with neonatal and
pediatric equipment and procedures is essential. Knowledgeable in
ABG interpretation and chest physiotherapy techniques. Direct
intubation experience in neonates and pediatrics is preferred.
Support for high-risk deliveries and inter-departmental neonatal
transports is beneficial. Candidates should have skills in caring
for infants and children with diverse respiratory issues. Basic EKG
interpretation and arterial blood gas drawing capabilities are
advantageous. Candidates must be comfortable floating to various
units based on skill sets and census.
