Job Title: Respiratory Therapist - NICU Profession: Respiratory / Neuro Diagnostics Specialty: RRT-NICU Duration: 13 Weeks Shift: Night Hours per Shift: 12 Experience: Minimum of 2 Years' Experience Required License: Must Have NC License and Registered RRT Certifications: BLS, PALS, NRP Required Description: RTO after booking is not allowed. Any call-offs or additional RTO could result in a cancel and DNR. No block scheduling. Traveler experience is required; first-time travelers will not be accepted without a high-level skill set. Locals are accepted with a rate difference. Experience with pediatric and NICU populations is required. Skills necessary include monitoring, vent management, O2 therapy, and drawing ABGs. Preferred skills include experience with neonates and infants, ground transport, and familiarity with Servo I and EKG. The NICU has a capacity of over 70 beds, with additional pediatric units available. Typical patient ratios are 10-15 per day in pediatrics and neonates. Floating between pediatric units and floors is required. Every third weekend is required. Special procedures in the NICU and PICU account for 50-60% of cases daily. Experience with pediatrics and NICU cases is mandatory. Candidates will need to work 2 out of 3 major holidays. Candidates must be comfortable floating based on the job description. Epic charting experience is required. Two manager/supervisor references from within the past 12 months are preferred. Fatigue policy states that travelers cannot work more than 5 consecutive days and/or more than 60 hours in a week. Modules are non-billable and must be completed pre-start and annually.
