Job Title: Registered Nurse Profession: RN Specialty: Med/Surg/Tele Duration: 13 weeks Shift: Night Shift Hours per Shift: 12 hours, 36 per week Experience: Minimum of 2 years Med/Tele RN experience preferred License: Current RN license Certifications: BLS, ACLS, NIHSS Must-Have: Stroke experience, cardiac rhythm interpretation, trach care, and PIV starts Description: About Facility: 874 licensed beds, Level I Trauma, Teaching Hospital, Chest Pain Center, Stroke Center Unit Information: - 36 beds - Great teamwork, specialty, leadership support, high acuity status patients Patient Types/Common Diagnoses: - Spinal surgery/spinal fusion - Stroke - Seizure - Myasthenia Gravis - Brain tumors/lesions Patient Ratios: - RN: 1:4-6, based on acuity - CNA: varies Skills required: - General Med/Tele skillset including cardiac drips, Heparin management, blood products, and IV fluids - Medication management including PCA pumps - Drain and tube management (e.g., Dobhoff, PEG tubes, Hemovac, JP drains, foley insertion/management) Support within the Department: - Charge nurse available 24/7 may or may not have patients - Phlebotomy available for peripheral blood draws only - Resource Nurse as available - RT, hospitalist, and intensivist available 24/7 Technology/Equipment: - EMR: EPIC - IV Pump: Alaris pump - Med dispensing: Omnicell - Monitors: Philips Floating: - Travelers will be required to float within regional needs as necessary - Floating will occur within scope of practice Scrub Color: Navy
