Job Description:

Lexington Surgery is seeking an experienced board-certified Surgical Oncologist to join our team of general, surgical oncology, colorectal, bariatric and reconstructive plastic surgeons. Lexington Surgery is an employed group within the Lexington Medical Center network of care. Lexington Medical Center is a 607 bed acute care hospital network in West Columbia, South Carolina. In March of 2019, the Medical Center opened the doors to the largest clinical expansion in South Carolina's history. The network includes five community medical centers, an occupational health facility, the largest nursing home in the Carolinas, an Alzheimer's care center, over 70 physician practices and more than 400 employed physicians. Lexington Medical Center is one of the top surgical centers in the region performing more than 17,000 surgeries each year. Lexington Medical Center is accredited to perform and experienced in, some of the most advanced and complex surgical procedures. State-of-the-art digital surgical suites are equipped with advanced surgical navigation and O-arm surgical imaging. In addition to the clinical expansion, Lexington Medical Cancer Center expanded to meet the needs of patients in a new medical oncology facility that encompasses 60,000 square feet and includes infusion, outpatient pharmacy, imaging and ancillary patient-directed services, such as our navigation services and Cancer Registry. Lexington Medical Cancer Center has also partnered with MUSC Hollings Cancer Center in Charleston, SC. Lexington Medical Center patient s access to MUSC s National Cancer Institute-designated clinical trials and continue to ensure they receive high quality and comprehensive cancer services. Lexington Medical Center s Oncology program has been awarded by the American College of Surgeons Commission on Cancer, the Cancer Center of Excellence and is 1 of only 4 hospitals in the state of South Carolina to be Quality Oncology Practice Initiative certified. Patient care and satisfaction is a focus and scores are consistently ranked in the top 15% in the nation. Position Details:

  • General Surgical Oncology with a focus on soft tissue and breast. Provide surgical services for patients in the community, work to elevate our established breast cancer program and enhance our high-risk breast clinic.
  • Acute Care Surgery Service provides call coverage. No emergent call responsibilities.
