Job Summary/Objective: Medical Assistant The medical assistant prepares patient for physician's visit, shows patient to room or treatment area, takes vital signs, and documents the patient's reason for the office visit. The medical assistant will cross-train, and perform the duties of a patient services representative as needed. MA will assist with COVID testing- whether with patients or in the lab. Essential Job Responsibilities: a) Performs triage on an array of patient demographics, also recognizes patient distress and takes appropriate action. Has contact by phone, correspondence, or personal meetings with persons in other departments or outside the practice; tact is required in these interactions and the employee assumes the responsibility for harmonious relationships. b) Maintains an optimistic, professional career oriented demeanor (positive role model) and complies with department dress code rules. Exemplifies excellent customer service relations with patients, visitors, physicians and co-workers. Holds themselves for conforming to service excellence and "House Rules." c) Operates general office equipment such as personal computer, copier, fax machine, etc. Ability to effectively utilize EMR software in centers, where applicable. d) Supports provider as needed.
