Apply now. A Brief Summary of This Position: The Project Manager
(PM) is responsible for overall execution, profitability, and
customer satisfaction in the assigned market channel. This position
works closely with the Sales, Product Management, Engineering, and
Operations leadership team. This role will be based in Newberry,
South Carolina.Essential Functions:
- Drafting of project consisting of existing / new / modified
components and creating layouts as needed
- Assist in defining the project schedule, flagging potential
risk areas, help with contingency plans
- Assist the sales team with the development of the total project
scope and deliverables and build a project plan using this
information, and then assemble a team accountable for successfully
meeting project deliverables
- Liaises between the commercial organization and the operation
team to ensure that business plans and processes are positioned for
success by coordinating with operations teams to ensure execution
to schedule and cost goals
- Develops a project timeline and monitors project performance to
the agreed upon plan / shipping schedules and recommends corrective
action as required to ensure a high level of on-time customer
shipments by identifying and tracking key project milestones and
deliverables.
- Communicates with customer, when appropriate, on impacts to
schedule and documents changes internally and externally
- Responds to and resolves field issues and warranty claims to
the satisfaction of the customers and business
- Conduct project postmortems and create recommendations report
for future project successes
- Identifies business and operational requirements based on
customer needs, industry trends, and feedback
- Assist in factory layout using lean methodologyAdditionally,
the Project Manager will be responsible for having a broad
knowledge of Valmont standards and operational performance of the
facilities used. They should also possess a broad knowledge of
departmental and company goals, policies, and procedures. The
Project Manager must make on the spot decisions regarding schedule
changes, budget changes or resource requirements to assure the
success of the project and can follow through with proper
communication of those decisions to all team members. Maintain
appropriate professional competencies, certifications, licenses,
etc., necessary to perform job.Required Qualifications of Every
Candidate (Education, Experience, Knowledge, Skills and Abilities):
- Bachelor-- s Degree with 5+ years of relevant experience or
Associate-- s Degree with 7+ years of relevant experience or 9+
years of relevant experience
- Experience with AutoCad / Drafting
- Experience with 3D Modeling -- SolidWorks / Automation
- Experience with BOM and Routing creation
- Experience with MS Office Suite programs and MS Project or
other scheduling program
- Valid driver-- s license and U.S. Passport for international
travelHighly Qualified Candidates Will Also Possess These
Qualifications:
- Experience in the fencing industry, installation and
construction
- Experience in a manufacturing environment; directly or
indirectly

Working Environment and Physical Efforts: Work is typically
performed in an office setting. The incumbent is regularly required
to sit for extended periods of time, as well as talk and listen on
the phone and in personal conversations or meetings. Environment is
fast paced and demanding most of the time. 10% domestic travel
requirements for this position that include overnight stays. The
employee frequently is required to use hands to finger, handle, or
feel and reach with hands and arms while working in the office with
various files and forms and while working on the computer. The
employee is occasionally required to move about the office.
Incumbent must utilize proper ergonomic safeguards such as monitor
height and positions, keyboard location and height and proper
wrists rests. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to
15 pounds in working with large files, binders, and computer
equipment. Specific vision abilities required by this job include
close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, and depth
