Job Description:

This position is responsible for sales of High Voltage systems (Cable, accessories, installation, and Site acceptance test) for the East Coast area. The Sales Manager shall establish and maintain a solid working relationship with Investor-Owned Utilities, Public Power entities, Sales representatives, while attaining sales and profitability targets as outlined annually in our Management Plan. This position will also be responsible to support other Prysmian Group sales teams on occasion, such as, Network Components, Prysmian Electronics and Corporate Hanger.
Sales Manager shall be able to study and evaluate the market providing to the Business Unit a medium-term visibility (3 years) Nature and Scope
Reporting to the High Voltage North America leader -this position is accountable for sales, customer forecast, contract management, and selling of new technology and delivering results tied to contribution margin goals. This position manages approximately $100 million in sales and requires extensive face to face contact with existing Customers, Channel Partners, Agents and Prospects within the geographic region.
Specific Job Duties:

  • Establish and maintain ethical and professional relationships with customers (internal and external), prospects and industry associates
  • Develop and execute a sales and profitability plan for the assigned territory, inclusive of Network Components and PryCam
  • Identify and target new prospects as agreed to by HV team
  • Expand High Voltage cable sales (depth and breadth) within existing accounts, where applicable.
  • Analyze market and prospect activity and provide a three-year market plan.
  • Schedule and execute direct sales call on all centers of influence at the Utilities both Public Power and Investor Owned Utilities (Supply Chain, Standards, Project Engineering, Warehouse, Construction Management, etc.)
  • Develop and deliver oral and written presentations to customers and prospects.
  • Coordinate resolution of customer issues with appropriate internal resources (sales administration, product management, manufacturing, engineering, credit etc.).
  • Generate and communicate to management market intelligence.
  • Promote and facilitate product training and plant tours with customers and prospects
  • Assist product managers with pricing decisions, product introduction, inventory decisions and major product group forecasting
  • Communicate overall customer needs and concerns to management.
  • Participate in regional trade shows as required
  • Extensive travel will be required

    • Technically oriented, with technical knowledge of the electric utility infrastructure

    • PC literate (PowerPoint, Word, Excel)
    • Demonstrated ability to sell and meet assigned sales profitability goals
    • Capable to deal with legal department for T&Cs evaluation.
      • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Business Management, marketing, or another related technical field is highly preferred
        Experience :
        • Minimum 3 - 5 years outside sales experience, preferably with utility, utility product manufacturer or utility distributor
        • Knowledge of utility industry & products
