Type of Staff Position: Research Grant (RGP) Basis : 12 months Job Search Category: Other Benefit Eligibility Type: Research Grant (RGP) South Carolina Retirement: Yes State Insurance Programs: Yes Annual Leave: Yes Sick Leave: Yes Advertised Job Summary: The Training and Development Director I (Quality Coach) functions as a part of the South Carolina Child Care & Resource Referral team of statewide Training & Development Directors (Quality Coaches) that provides technical assistance to parents, early childhood programs, and community partners as it relates to all the core components of the Department of Social Services, Division of Early Care and Education grant requirements. This position is primarily home-based. For this position, the selected applicant must obtain two approvals, both from SC Endeavors, within 12 months of employment: (1) Approval as a South Carolina Certified Trainer Credential in all areas of child development (2) Approval as a South Carolina Certified Technical Assistance Provider Minimum Qualifications (Classified and Unclassified positions): Master---s degree and 1 year training and development experience, or bachelor---s degree and 3 years training and development experience. Preferred Qualifications: Prefer a Master---s degree in Early Childhood Education; or a Bachelor---s degree in Early Childhood Education; or a degree in education related field with a minimum of 18 credit hours documented on transcript of core coursework in Early Childhood Education. Preference will be given to applicants with experience as an employee/owner of an early childhood setting (center-based, family-based) serving infants, toddlers, and pre-schoolers. Preference will also be given to applicants with experience conducting adult/parent education trainings and providing technical assistance to implement program quality standards in early childhood education setting. Knowledge/Skills/Abilities: Knowledge of computer web based programs and equipment such as Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
