The Machine Operator will be responsible for trimming excess lining
and fabric from the sides and bottom of drapery panels using either
a flat table or a vertical table. \n What you'll do \n \n Remove
drapery from the rack and clamp fabric to the rod pocket table. \n
Check hem and finished length on the work ticket. \n Inspect fabric
for flaws or defects. \n Cut fabric and trim off extra lining. \n
Make hidden tabs using an iron and serge sewing machine. \n Clamp
fabric to the vertical tabling machine. \n Enter hem and finished
length from the work ticket on the control box. \n Raise the
machine to the finished length. \n Inspect fabric for flaws or
defects. \n Machine will cut the fabric. \n Cut and trim off extra
lining. \n Comply with all facility safety rules and regulations.
\n Report any unsafe practices or conditions to your supervisor. \n
Wear required personal protective equipment properly and report any
defective PPE. \n Report all near misses, accidents, injuries, or
illnesses, including Muscular Skeletal symptoms or disorders. \n Be
aware of the expansion joint in the floor that runs through the
drapery line and keep wheels clear of the cracks to prevent
accidents. \n Be cautious of air clamps, staple guns, and other
machinery to avoid injuries. \n Ensure all machines are turned off
before replacing needles or leaving the workstation. \n Be aware of
the Emergency Evacuation Route for your department. \n Complete
various activities that may require lifting or carrying over 30
pounds in all directions. \n Occasionally move about to accomplish
tasks or move from one worksite to another. \n Frequently operate
machinery and hand tools. \n Repeat motions that may include the
wrists, hands, and/or fingers. \n Perform other duties as assigned
by your supervisor \n \n Who you are \n \n High school graduate \n
Ability to use and read a tape measure \n General knowledge of
fabrics \n Ability to use production equipment \n Ability to use
hand tools \n Successfully pass color blind test \n Accuracy with
names, numbers and spelling \n Capable of standing for extended
periods of time \n Capable of lifting on a continuous basis \n
Strong attention to details \n Follow written and verbal
