Chiron Technology Services, Inc. currently has a career opportunity for a Controller in Columbia, MD.
General Summary:
The Controller leads and directs the company's accounting and finance operations. This position oversees accounting staff and ensures the timeliness and accuracy of all accounting functions and is responsible for internal controls. The Controller is responsible for budget development, forecasting, and analysis, and will provide leadership with analysis and recommendations for strategic initiatives. The Controller maintains compliance with government regulations, including DCAA and FAR. The Controller provides contract administration and proposal support.
Finance and Accounting

• 
  Implements and maintains internal controls
  
  
• 
  Provides oversight to the Accounting function,
  
  
• 
  Manages financial transactions to include payroll administration, 401(k) funding and profit sharing
  
  
• 
  Ensures accuracy of billing, invoicing, expenses, and other financial and accounting functions
  
  
• 
  Manages internal and external audits
  
  
• 
  Prepares and monitors annual budget, cash flow analysis, and projections
  
  
• 
  Performs financial analysis and provides decision support for strategic initiatives
  
  
• 
  Ensures banking reporting and compliance
  
  
• 
  Oversees and ensures government and regulatory reporting and compliance
  
  
  Contract Support
  
  • 
    
  • 
    Prepares cost proposals for Prime and Subcontract proposals
    
    
  • 
    Supports Prime Contract administration, reporting, maintenance of schedule of rates
    
    
  • 
    Provides subcontract administration, pricing, rate negotiation, review of terms and conditions, and modifications
    
    
    Qualifications:
    
    • 
      
    • 
      Bachelor's degree in business, accounting, finance, or related field; Master's preferred
      
      
    • 
      Five (5) or more years of relevant experience in government contractor accounting
      
      
    • 
      Three (3) or more years as a senior level accounting manager or controller in a government contracting arena
      
      
    • 
      Experience with Unanet preferred
      
      
    • 
      Experience with Federal Government contracting processes, procedures, accounting requirements and working knowledge of FAR and DFAR requirements
      
      
    • 
      Knowledge of DCAA audit procedures
      
      
    • 
      Demonstrated adherence to GAAP
      
      
    • 
      Developed knowledge of federal, state, and local tax compliance regulations
      
      
    • 
      Ability to secure a US government security clearance if needed
